a Brief History

On April 1885 the young Italian Reign Parliament revoked the joining prohibition among the retired military men.

So that in Milan, some Carabinieri, who had been retired for several reasons, as their pensionable age, or having been invalided out, thought of founding a new association with the aim of consolidating the ties of allegiance and of helping who was in trouble, if necessary.

They pursued in it and the "Associazione di Mutuo Soccorso tra Congedati e Pensionati dei Carabinieri Reali" (Mutual Benefit Association between Dismissed and Retired Military men of the Royal Carabinieri) was established in Milan on 1 March 1886. It was the first association as a society among the retired military men, and the standard-beares of the present societies in the Carabinieri arm.
